Steve Timms assumed the overall duties of President and CEO of the Houston Golf Association (HGA) and Tournament Director for the Shell Houston Open on January 19, 2001. Through his leadership, the Houston Golf Association continues its 70 year legacy of distributing millions of dollars to youth development programs throughout the Greater Houston Area annually.

In his leadership role with the Houston Golf Association, Steve is the President and CEO of The First Tee of Greater Houston, which is the chapter with the largest reach in a worldwide network. He is also the president of the Houston Municipal Golf Association, a 501(c)(3) that supports the City of Houston with the maintenance and restoration of Houston’s public golf courses. 

Steve serves on the Board of Trustees for the Kingwood Medical Center. Steve also serves on the PGA TOUR’s Tournament Advisory Council of which he was Chairman from 2008 to 2011. In previous years he has served on the Board of the PGA TOUR Tournaments Association and the PGA TOUR’s FedEx Cup Task Force.

Steve and wife Susan have two grown daughters and two grandchildren and are long time residents of the Houston area.
