DESCRIPTION:Rotary Club of Houston October 1\, 2015 Jonathan Sandys
“God and Churchill” We are honored to have as our speaker\, Jonatha
n Sandys\, great-grandson of Sir Winston Churchill. Many of you know Jona
than as a member of our club. He will speak on his new book\, “God and C
hurchill.” We will have copies for sale\, which Jonathan will autograph
. A portion of the book proceeds will be donated to our club. Like me\
, many of you have been to Churchill’s birth place at Blenheim Palace o
utside Woodstock\, west of London\, and to his burial place nearby at
St. Martin’s Church\, Bladon. Also\, many of us have visited various o
ther sites in England with which he is associated. We should all look f
orward to hearing Jonathan’s words of tribute to his great-grandfather.
This will be a moving experience for our club. Bill Lee\, 2015-2016 P
rogram Chair Jonathan Sandys is an experienced public speaker focus
ing on the leadership skills of his great-grandfather\, Sir Winston Church
ill. Jonathan’s main focus is on business executives and their workf
orces\, educational establishments\, and non-profits. Focusing on th
e skills his great-grandfather acquired and practiced throughout his li
fe\, he helps shape tomorrow’s leaders and gives guidance to those w
anting to improve their current leadership abilities. Churchill’s leade
rship was based on courage\, faith\, and integrity. Jonathan’s book:
“God and Churchill\,” deals with the “faith” aspect and prese
nts evidence that strongly supports Churchill's own belief that “Divine
Intervention” not only directed\, but protected him throughout his li
fe. Jonathan's mission is to continue the amazing legacy Sir Winston left
the world\, and work with present and future generations to inspire the gr
eat leadership of courage\, faith and integrity employed by his great-gran
dfather throughout his tumultuous life. "History honours my great-grandf
ather as a hero\, but despite the accolade\, the world today has forgotten
many of the vital lessons he taught and the prophetic warnings he shared.
" “We who bear the mantle of being descended from those who have made
history are in a unique position to connect past and present\, continuing
the legacy entrusted to us with humanity and humility. In devoting his li
fe to educating young and old about the life of his great-grandfather\, Jo
