Instead\, we will gather f or our quarterly “Lunch with a Purpose” on Thursday\, May 10\, 2018\, fro m 11:30 am to 1:00 pm\, to assist Career Recovery and Resources\, Inc.\, located at 2525 San Jacinto St.\, Houston\, TX 77002. Career Recovery an d Resources (“CRR”)—founded in 1945—is a non-profit\, multi-service organ ization that provides assistance and counseling to individuals who often face a myriad of employment obstacles. To facilitate this important serv ice mission\, CRR offers four critical core programs that focus on the fo llowing areas: (1) Employment and Career Development\; (2) Veteran & Hous ing Assistance\; (3) Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services\; and (4) Alternat ive Substance Abuse Treatment. At CRR\, individuals are given “a hand up rather than a hand out.” As Rotarians\, we will donate men’s and women’ s professional clothing that is gently used and ready to wear. The appar el will empower those in need of our service with confidence and self-est eem necessary to obtain future employment. Therefore\, we are asking eve ryone to bring clothing that is “Pressed for Progress”—items that are lau ndered\, pressed and ready for wear at a job interview. The Club will pro vide a delicious boxed meal for all who attend this “Lunch with a Purpose .” Likewise\, the staff at CRR will present an informative program to ou r members and guests.
