Robert Isaac Garcia was recently appointed to the Command Staff of the Houston Fire Department as the Assistant Chief of Emergency Response. He has over 24 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Houston. Chief Garcia has earned an Associate Degree of Applied Science-Fire Protection Technology with a Master fire fighter certification from the Texas Commission of Fire Protection. Chief Garcia has held every tested rank through the rank of District Chief. He has served in the capacity of Administrative Staffing Chief in support of the HFD Command staff for over 2.5 years. Prior to his new appointment he has served the last 2 years in District 28 A shift-Galleria District. The Galleria District is one of 5 High-rise districts and is considered the busiest Fire District in the City of Houston. During his career he has served the American Fire Service in several capacities specifically in the field of education. Chief Garcia has served as an Adjunct Instructor and Coordinator for Lone Star College and Houston Community College with 18 years of teaching experience and is responsible for establishing the 1st Fire School Academy in the Houston Community Colleges System. Chief Garcia has just completed his greatest benchmark with 25 years of marriage and has a son and daughter who will be attending the University of Houston this fall.
