Bio:

Kaveh Badrei graduated from Princeton University in 2020 with a B.A. from the School of Public and International Affairs and certificates in French and the History and Practice of Diplomacy. His academic concentrations include human rights, public policy, and international law. His senior thesis at Princeton studied hybrid human rights tribunals in international criminal law in Cambodia and Sierra Leone. He is particularly interested in the ways that international and domestic institutions can contribute to lasting change and progress in issues pertaining to conflict resolution, social and political justice, and the protection of human rights. At Princeton, he wrote for the Daily Princetonian and was involved with the Pace Center for Civic Engagement. In the past, Kaveh has worked within local government as well as regional and international non-profits––such as the Anti-Defamation League, Danish Institute for Human Rights, and Office of Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo––in public policy, legal services, and human rights. He hopes to continue his education and earn his master’s degree in international public policy and human rights.

Summary:

Kaveh is pleased to speak with the Rotary Club of Houston about his passion for public policy, international affairs, and global justice and his vision of a more just, more peaceful, and more humane world. Drawing upon his education in the classroom at Princeton University, his professional experiences at home and abroad, and his own independent research on international justice, Kaveh hopes to share his own practical ideals for a world made more peaceful, more just, and more equal for all and looks forward to discussing his personal aspirations based on the fundamental notion of service above self with the Rotary Club of Houston.
