Justin Wells is the current Executive Assistant Fire Chief over Emergency Response for the Houston Fire Department.  He previously served as the Assistant Fire Chief over Emergency Medical Services.  He is a 24 year member that has risen through the ranks from Firefighter to District Chief prior to being appointed to a staff position in 2017.  He is crossed trained in both Fire and EMS and has been a certified paramedic for over 20 years.  He is now oversees the Department’s response to Fire, EMS, Rescue, Hazmat, and Aircraft incidents along with managing the Department’s 3500+ personnel, 250+ response units, and 93 fire stations covering an area of over 650 square miles.  When he isn’t working, he spends time with his wife chasing their children around, coaching little league baseball, and trying to find time to travel.  He can be contacted at justin.wells@houstontx.gov.
