Houston is the Bayous City and while we love the many views we enjoy; we aren't fond of flooding issues that come with the territory.

What is happening with maintenance?

What is the Flood Control District Proposition A on the November ballot?

Does it mean a tax increase?

Let's ask Emily:

Emily Woodell
Chief External Affairs Officer
Harris County Flood Control District

The Harris County Flood Control District is a special purpose district created by the Texas Legislature in 1937 and governed by Harris County Commissioners Court. It was created in response to devastating floods that struck the region in 1929 and 1935.

23 primary watersheds within Harris County's 1,777 square miles...each watershed has its own independent flooding problems. Each watershed presents unique challenges.
